As an expert in embodied carbon of buildings, I am regularly invited to consult on specific projects or in writing reports. My latest consulting work includes working with Ramboll Engineering and the World Green Building Council on the Net Zero Embodied Carbon report.
I am columnist for Architectura.be. I have written a series on whole life carbon design of buildings. Currently, Architectura.be publishes a series of interviews I conducted on the topic of circular economy.
I have worked as engineer, architect and researcher for design firms such as Arup, Ney & Partners, Helionix Designs, Modulo Architects and the Institute of Natural Sciences.
I have volunteered for NGOs and foundations such as the Fundación Trazando Espacios Públicosk where we worked on reusing waste elements in the construction of school parks and classrooms for children, with the children themselves learning how to build on the construction site. I also worked in South Africa on a Local Economical Development (LED) project, retrofitting houses for townships.
From adaptable housing to a sustainable masterplan for retrofitting a neighborhood, my designs always respond to the program's needs and to the consciousness of an architectural engineer including sustainability and esthetics.
